Donation of hospital supplies and equipment for medical personnel and patients of COVID-19 is delivered

Cities Alliance with the support of UNOPS, made a second donation of equipment and inputs to face COVID-19.

Within the framework of the Cities Alliance's global response to the Covid-19 crisis, funded by the Swedish Cooperation Agency (SIDA), on March 4, the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Naranjo River Basin (MANCUERNA) and its strategic partner, the Inter-American Dialogue, delivered the second donation of hospital supplies and equipment for the use of medical personnel and patients treated by COVID-19, acquired with the support of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), to the Department of San Marcos, Guatemala.

The donation includes: gloves, gowns, surgical caps, four-layer masks with a visor, bags for eliminating bio-infectious material, and swabs, and others, for the staff and patients treated at the San Marcos National Hospital, the Health Center of the municipality of San Antonio Sacatepéquez, and health areas of the municipalities of San Pedro Sacatepéquez and San Marcos.

The first donation was made on December 10, 2020, at the National Hospital of Amatitlán, through the Municipality of Amatitlán and the Avina Foundation.

Cities Alliance is a multilateral alliance that fights urban poverty and supports cities in achieving sustainable development goals. To ensure its functioning, Cities Alliance has established a fund administered by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
