The SAN unit is a specialized, high-speed network that allows network access to storage devices. They are usually composed of a server, different switches, elements, and storage devices, all interconnected using a variety of technologies and protocols.
The scope of the project, implemented with technical support from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), covered the acquisition, installation, settings, and operation of a SAN storage unit. Migrating the information that was in the other IGSS storage systems, training, technical support 7x24x365, and 5 years warranty, with an investment of Q 1,310,826.
The SAN storage unit gives IGSS greater storage capacity, with the ability to secure and organize backups. It also improves application availability and performance; makes storage resource management easier and more efficient, and offloads application servers from storage-related queries.
INFRAIGSS is called the Implementation Program for the Second Phase of the Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of the IGSS Hospital Infrastructure and Services, which includes the design and construction of hospitals, as well as their equipment, and the acquisition of ambulances; and updating the technological infrastructure of the Institute, in order to expand and improve the coverage and care of its rights-holders and affiliated persons.
